Tips

  • Escapade is strong with AD Thresh: the build converts AP into Flay and adds armor penetration.3

Interactions

  • Adaptive Force grants Thresh attack damage when he has no AP items. AP from Thresh's passive may not count toward making Adaptive Force grant AP.45
  • Desecrator is a strong Curse augment for Thresh.6
  • Tank Engine with the Heartsteel quest generates health on Thresh.7
  • Pillars can mean instant death when an enemy has a displacement ability such as Thresh's Flay.8

  • While downed, throw a lantern to your allies every few (8) seconds. This grants allies near the lantern a shield. Anyone can click the lantern to be pulled to the downed player.9

  • Passive - Damnation
  • Souls Gained on Pickup: 1 ⇒ 3
  • W - Dark Passage
  • Cooldown: 21 / 20 / 19 / 18 / 17 ⇒ 15 / 14 / 13 / 12 / 11
  • E - Flay
  • Damage Ramp-Up Time Between Attacks: 10 seconds ⇒ 5 seconds
  • R - The Box
  • Cooldown: 120 / 100 / 80 ⇒ 90 / 60 / 30
  • Base Damage: 250 / 400 / 550 ⇒ 350 / 500 / 65010

Earlier formats

Since patch 14.14, Thresh's Flay no longer deals less damage than intended.11 8x2 duos

  • In the launch format with four teams of two, Thresh roamed the battlefield to assist champions. He periodically cast Dark Passage toward the champion furthest from him; the lantern continuously shielded the nearest champion with the lowest health, and champions on either team could interact with it to dash to Thresh.121314 8x2 duos
  • A Jeweled Gauntlet, Sword of Divine, Force of Entropy, and Rabadon's Deathcap build was worth trying.15 8x2 duos
  • Thresh's hook granted 50 Reverberation stacks on hard crowd control, double the expected amount. Bread and Butter, Kraken, and Blade of the Ruined King worked well with the augment.16 8x2 duos
  • AP Thresh was fun but lacked strength compared with other mages.17 8x2 duos
  • Playing Thresh with Force of Entropy was fun.18 8x2 duos
  • Thresh's Q could no longer hook and pull with Chauffeur.19 8x2 duos
  • Elise could nearly one-shot a Thresh with five Curse augments.20 8x2 duos
  • A Thresh with Firefox, Quantum Computing, Slime Time, and Lightning Rod had constant crowd control, was hard to kill, and dealt a surprising amount of damage. Take CDR boots for autocast builds.21 8x2 duos
