• Self Destruct can be a solid tank solve, especially with Quadcast.⁵
• With Frost Wraith, Self Destruct can get “really silly” with Reverberation or Mercy. Blade Waltz, Hexbolt Companion, and Fulmination are preferred for faster autocast ramping.⁶
• Self Destruct can deal substantial damage with a setup that lets its user stay close to an enemy; stacking five bombs can burst an enemy for 100% of their maximum health as true damage.⁷
• A tank or bruiser with crowd control is recommended for a build using Self Destruct with Quantum Computing, Lightning Rod, and on-hit autocast items.⁸

• The airborne effect does not interrupt channels or disable abilities, and is not resisted by crowd-control immunity or spell shield.⁹ Patch unknown
• When Hexbolt Companion triggers Self Destruct, it starts a timer instead of exploding instantly.¹⁰¹¹
• Lightning Rod reduces the countdown started when Hexbolt Companion triggers Self Destruct.¹¹
• Self Destruct's knock-up does not trigger Cruelty's comet.¹²
• Self Destruct's knock-up can affect Olaf while Ragnarok is active.¹³

• When many Self Destruct timers run at once after Hexbolt Companion triggers them, some explosions may deal no damage and cause no knock-up.¹⁰
• Negative cooldown reduction on Hecarim bugged Lightning Rod, causing Self Destruct to trigger about five times per second.¹⁴

In patch 26.9, Self Destruct changed to autocast every 25 seconds instead of exploding only once.¹⁵
