Tips
- It's Critical, Slow and Steady, and Vulnerability appear together in a Smolder build.3
- Vulnerability with on-hit items can deal damage through damage-over-time effects and procs, especially against tankier teams.4
- Jeweled Gauntlet and Vulnerability can make Smolder's Q deal very high damage; Sword of the Divine can also be part of the build.56
- Diamond-Tipped Spear is a scaling item for late-game ranged champions such as Smolder, and its damage takes time to ramp up.7
- Smolder benefits from Infinity Edge and from trying for at least one Prismatic Anvil for Sword of the Divine.8
- Smolder with Vulnerability in round 1 never misses.9
Interactions
- Smolder's Q applies on-hit effects and works with Dual Wield, Double Tap, and Ethereal Weapon. Fan the Hammer can further improve on-hit builds.10
Smolder's range and high DPS can help match the range of opposing teams.11
- Smolder only needs 225; more does not do much, and critical strike augments are better overall.12
- The tooltip may not count Q's extra damage because Q does not technically critically strike; this is uncertain and needs an in-game check.1314
- Smolder's Q scales with critical strike damage but cannot normally critically strike, so Jeweled Gauntlet can benefit it.15
- The Upgraded Collector can kill when an ally has Clothesline.16
- Smolder's Q may count as both an attack and an ability for Hybrid, but this is uncertain and has not been tested.17
Bugs
- With Chauffeur, casting W can drag Smolder to a dead teammate.18
- After buying Sunderer, Smolder may be unable to buy other Spellblade effect items; it is unclear whether Essence Reaver is affected.19
History
Since patch 26.15, horns no longer appear inside Neeko's head when she is disguised as Smolder.20
Earlier formats
Since patch 14.16, Smolder can fly over the Koi Pond Rivers while the Lilypad is closed.21 8x2 duos
- Skilled Sniper and Sacrifice for Silver appeared in a Smolder build focused on stacking.22 8x2 duos
