Tips

  • In Bravery mode, a coordinated Yasuo and Malphite team can have an edge over a first-time Hwei and Renata team.3
  • Jeweled Gauntlet gives Yasuo little benefit because his abilities already crit.4
  • Yasuo can perma-stun or knock up opponents.5
  • Yasuo and Yone may work well with Aim for the Head; an attack speed item that guarantees three critical strikes of true damage may also be worth considering.6
  • Yasuo with Now You See Me can be fun; with anvils, reaching 100% critical strike chance by round 3 can leave later choices for magic resistance, armor, health, lethality and attack speed.7

Interactions

  • Sweeping Blade’s on-target cooldown is halved in Arena.28 Patch unknown
  • Wind Wall can block, destroy or stop projectiles.9 Patch unknown
  • Yasuo’s Q can crit, applies on-attack effects and has a range that scales with attack range; it behaves like Smolder’s Q.1011
  • Yasuo’s Q can be treated as a basic attack for Hybrid.12
  • Aim for the Head does not apply Yasuo’s passive.13
  • Yasuo’s Q and E already crit normally, which may explain why Jeweled Gauntlet does not affect them.14

History

Earlier formats

  • Since patch 14.11, Yasuo can no longer use E+Q and then recall to delay his knock-up.15 8x2 duos
  • Since patch 13.14, Rageknife no longer disables Yasuo and Yone’s passives.16 4x2 duos
  • Yasuo and Yone’s passives give double critical strike chance.17 8x2 duos
  • Yasuo can take the portal to dodge damage.18 8x2 duos
  • Yasuo and Yone can keep opponents knocked up with old Mystic Punch and Yasuo’s tornado.19 8x2 duos
  • Yasuo’s Q is treated like a basic attack for Duskblade.20 8x2 duos
  • Yasuo’s E gating depended on an internal per-champion cooldown determined by ability level, not haste.2122 8x2 duos
  • Yasuo Q’s cooldown scaled with bonus attack speed, while Lightning Strikes and Dual Wield increased attacks per second.2324 8x2 duos
  • Scopier could feel more effective on melee champions; one Yasuo build paired three Scopiers with Dual Wield, Hamstringer and Jeweled Gauntlet.25 8x2 duos
  • Yasuo Q was not affected by the total attack speed increase from Lightning Strikes and Dual Wield.26 8x2 duos
  • Yasuo and Yone can keep opponents knocked up, including with Moonflair Spellblade.27 8x2 duos
  • Cannon Fodder can serve as a knock-up for Yasuo.28 8x2 duos
  • Mystic Punch is a strong augment choice for Yasuo.29 8x2 duos
  • Moonflair Spellblade can work well with Yasuo and Yone.30 8x2 duos
  • For Yasuo in Bravery, aim for a crit high roll and then build resistances. Vulnerability with Sword of the Divine and attack speed from Blade of the Ruined King or Reaper’s Toll can help, followed by Wit's End, Jak'Sho or another tank item without mana.31 8x2 duos
  • Yasuo can be picked without relying on a specific teammate because he can get knock-ups himself.32 8x2 duos
  • A Morgana mirror image could proc all its hooks onto Yasuo and break a combo just before Zac hit with all his abilities.33 8x2 duos
  • A Yasuo build with Vulnerability, Sword of the Divine, Apex Inventor and Statikk Shiv was a very strong run.34 8x2 duos
  • Senna can bypass Yasuo’s Wind Wall, including with her Q.35 8x2 duos
  • Senna’s basic attacks are not projectiles, so Yasuo’s Wind Wall cannot destroy them.36 8x2 duos
  • Yasuo’s Wind Wall still blocks basic attacks from a champion made melee by Draw Your Sword.37 8x2 duos
  • Yasuo and Yone no longer deal extremely high damage with created Guinsoo’s Rageblade.3839 4x2 duos
